On Sept. 21, Hubert Hall had their first Soul House Sunday of the year. Events included a $3 pie-in-the-face event, $5 for members to do a cold plunge, a live DJ and pizza.
The event is part of a broader initiative by council members to raise the house’s reputation out of irrelevance, making Hubert a haven for creatives across all majors at Morehouse.
“We got the most creative people… the most vibrant people,” Hubert Hall Public Relations Representative Blake Wilson ’29 said. “Soul House is the perfect place to display [that bonding of the AUC].”
Coupled with the fellowship, the event doubled as a fundraiser, raising $400 for Hubert.
“That will go right back into things that we do here,” Hubert Hall Treasurer Charles Hunter ‘29 said.
Hubert residents have come to realize that the “Soul House” is more than just a hall. Its presence on campus has forged familial bonds for residents to cherish throughout their matriculation.
“Soul House Sunday was a reminder… we’re a community, and Hubert House is leading the way,” Freshman Class Senator Eric Spragins II ’29 said.
