The Spelhouse Homecoming Kickoff Jam put on a show for the start of the homecoming week.

The kickoff, held Oct. 12 from 7-10 p.m., took place at the Spelman Oval. Complimenting the event were food trucks, a vortex tunnel and other stations with festivities throughout the kickoff jam.

Sororities and fraternities from Spelman and Morehouse College line danced, with crowds watching and recording. Following that were fireworks over the oval that took the crowd’s attention to the sky.

Students vibed to notable songs such as “Fanto” by Chief Keef, “Take Me Thru Dere” by Metro Boomin and Breskii and “Dreams to Nightmares” by Meek Mill.

The height of the kickoff came when the crowd cohesively swagged and surfed to the song “Swag Surfin”, by F.L.Y., followed by a few line dances and ending with the highly known song “Boots On the Ground,” by 830Fresh.

The night ended with mingling amongst AUC students within Spelman and Morehouse’s campus.

Overall, Spelhouse’s homecoming is off to a strong start.
