Atlanta Police has confirmed that the 21-year-old missing student at Clark Atlanta University, Alexis Crawford, has been found dead.

Later Friday afternoon, Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields said during a press conference the case came to “one of the saddest conclusions possible” as her body was found in Dekalb County after being lead by one of the suspects in the case.

According to CBS46, Jordan Jones, Crawford’s roommate, and Barron Brantley, Jones’ boyfriend, had allegedly confessed to playing a role in the student’s disappearance. It was reported that Crawford filed a police report with the Atlanta Police Department against Brantley and Jones.

“While a motive has not been clearly established, the department did take a police report from Alexis Crawford on October 27, and this is a few days prior to her being reported missing. In this report, Alexis described unwanted kissing and touching from Barron Brantley,” Shields said.

Currently, the investigators are working toward obtaining arrest warrants for the two suspects.

The police report Crawford filed stated that she was drinking with her roommate and her roommate’s boyfriend the night of the encounter. After Brantley was rubbing his hands on Crawford’s shoulder and kissing her neck, Crawford questioned what he was doing. 

She then proceeded to go to her room. The report states Brantley followed her to her room, and when Brantley left the room, his shirt was off and claimed to not have slept with the victim.

Crawford claimed to have blacked out prior to Brantley entering the room. She was taken to Grady Hospital and was administered a rape kit.

Three days later, she went missing, and her family filed a police report on November 1 as reported by 11Alive. 

Earlier this week, a vigil was held at her Southwest Atlanta apartment where people prayed for her to come back home safely.
