Another year of Spelhouse Homecoming is here. Morehouse College’s Campus Alliance for Student Activities (CASA) and Spelman’s Programming for Unique and Lively Spelman Experience (PULSE) look to bring another week of exciting activities for SpelHouse students.
At Hump Wednesday today, both organizations announced the 2024 Homecoming lineup featuring: Coco Jones, Real Boston Richey, Hunxho, No Cap, and headliner JT.
The concert this year, titled “The Anthem”, will have Fly Guy DC returning as the host. Students can expect him to bring special guests much like previous years. He has brought artists such as Lil Yachty, Offset, Rae Srummend, and many more.
It was also announced that the Neo-Soul Concert was canceled this year. The addition of Coco Jones was CASA and PULSE’s idea to bring R&B to the main concert.
“I like Coco,” a Spelman student said. I want to see her perform for sure.”
Other artists in the lineup such as Real Boston Richey have stormed onto the music scene with hit songs “Help Me” and “The Type.” Hunxho is an Atlanta favorite whose songs “Your Friends” and “By Tomorrow” are popular among the Atlanta youth. NoCap’s biggest songs were released in past years but newer listeners will get a chance to understand why he was selected to be a part of “The Anthem”.
Headliner JT drew particular interest from the crowd. She was a former member of the famous duo City Girls, but she now takes a solo role releasing her most recent album “City Cinderella.”
CASA and PULSE bring another homecoming lineup they hope satisfies the student body. With the possibility of anyone being able to show up, “The Anthem” will be a homecoming concert worth watching.
The concert will be held in Forbes Arena on October 23. The final events lineup for the Spelhouse homecoming week will be announced in the near future.
