For Spelhouse, students expect every year for Homecoming to be a time of football, festivities and a chance to experience some of their favorite artists live and in-person. After a long wait, the highly anticipated concert lineup was revealed.
Belly Gang Kushington, BossMan Dlow, Pluto, OMB Peezy, Taffy and Dolly Babe, among others, took the stage on Oct. 8.
The concert kicked off with Dolly Babe performing her TikTok smash “Pink Blush” as a backdrop for the Agency’s stunning finale. Then Nay Speaks, a Spelman graduate and rising rapper in the Atlanta area, set the mood with her “Lover Girl Anthem.”
A flurry of performances back-to-back followed, with exciting artists like OMB Peezy, Jhonniedamnd and Skooly working the mic before the crowd erupted for the three headliners.
Pluto came to perform and brought her vibrant energy to the homecoming stage with her songs “Feeling On My Body (Remix)” with Taffy and her 2025 hit “WHIM WHAMMIEE.” She also brought out surprise guest DDG for “ROUND & ROUND”, which revitalized the crowd after hours of standing on the green, keeping energy high.
BossMan Dlow and Belly Gang Kushington were not giving up the best performance of the night without a fight; the former played hits like “Get In With Me” and “Motion Party” and left the crowd with nothing to say but his name. Belly Gang Kushington ended the night on a high note as well, performing his global hit “WTF GOIN” not once, but twice.
Morehouse student Aiden Reddish left a glowing review of the concert.
“I really had an amazing time there,” Reddish said. “As a Graves Hall resident, it was cool to walk outside my dorm and run right into the chaotic yet fun experience of the fair and the concert.”
And the praise didn’t stop there. Freshman Michai Wilkerson says the concert was a great introduction to Homecoming for him.
“It was definitely fun to see some of the most popular songs on social media right now played live right here at the House, and they did a great job bringing it all together, especially with the carnival theme. It was a great experience for my first Homecoming, and I’m excited to see what Spelhouse has in store for next year,” Wilkerson said.
Amidst worries about the homecoming artist lineup announcement circulating around Spelman and Morehouse, Campus Alliance for Student Activities (CASA) did not back down from the challenge to deliver a memorable homecoming, and the performance this year brought an energy students will never forget.
